Review: e.l.f. Contour Palette

Hi guys! Today I have another review for you guys. The product is e.l.f. Contour Palette and I got this from an online shop.

This product retails for $6 on the e.l.f. website.

They list the directions and the ingredients on the back of the box packaging. Here is what the official website says about this product :

how to use

Using the darker contour shades, apply color in areas where you wish to achieve a slimming effect; such as along the sides and beneath the tip of the nose, in the hollow of the cheeks, along the jawline, and along the hairline on the sides of your forehead. Use the matte brightening shade to add light, lift, and create defined angles on the top of the nose, chin, and center of the forehead. Use the highlighting shade on the top of the cheekbones, below the brow bone, on the cupid's bow, and on the temples for an illuminating glow.

First of fall, this packaging is actually really nice and sturdy. It has a full size mirror, which is really nice. It comes with 4 complete shades to highlight, set the undereye, bronzer and contour. You can even pop out the individual pans and mix and match it with other shades in the collection.

Swatches

These are the swatches of the shades.The texture of the shades are really soft and powdery.

I really like the pigmentation of the darker shades in the quad, although I don't find the lighter shades is pigmented enough for me. Because of the decent pigmentation, you can always build it up and not have to apply it with a light hand and not have to worry about the overpigmentation.

The darker shades blend really nice, but it is quite powdery and can leave some fallout. The banana-like shade is not that pigmented, but the lightest white shade looks really natural on the top of my cheeks.

From the top :

• The darkest colour is a little bit cool-tone shade for contouring. It is really nicely pigmented and easy to blend.
• The second darkest colour has warmer undertone and it looks really pretty. However, I have to build up this shade more to show up on my cheeks and I don't find that effective.
• The banana shade is for setting the undereye. This has the softest texture and I really like that it doesn't cake up my face (I have really oily skin). I just don't find this shade that pigmented.
• The lightest shade is for highlighting. This shade has little specs of white glitter and the pigmentation is quite decent. Because it isn't very pigmented, it gives a really natural highlight.

Here are the swatches on my cheeks. I'm not a pro when it comes to contouring and I'm sorry for that. It looks a little blotchy because I kept putting on the bronzer, which I find doesn't show up that well on my cheeks.

The longevity of this product is decent. I don't really like the lighter shades, but I do like the contour shades. I found myself going back to my MAKEOVER contour product (review coming soon).

So, here are the pros and cons of this product

Pros

• has a really nice packaging
• has a full-size mirror
• travel-friendly
• pigmentation is nice and you don't have to apply with a really light hand
• easy to blend
• beginner-friendly
• affordable ($6 USD on the website)

Cons

• the lighter shades are not that pigmented
• the more you build it up, the more blotchy and powdery it gets
• it is quite powdery and can leave some fallout

Rate: 7/10

I actually really like it for the price, considering that it comes in 4 shades, but I find myself just reaching out for the darkest shade.

Will I repurchase? I don't think so.

I would like to try other contour palettes and this product in particular didn't impress me that much. But, this will be a very good palette for beginners and for its affordable price.

I have always wanted to buy aloe vera gel for my face moisturizer, as I have read many good reviews and benefits about aloe vera. I originally wanted to buy the Nature Republic one but it has alcohol in it. I was afraid that my skin will get allergic to it. I was really happy to find out that this DOES NOT contain alcohol nor paraben. It was also very cheap, I bought it for around IDR 35.000 for this huge tube.

I have used this product for about 3 months now and I kept this review this long because I really wanted to try it out for a little bit longer, whether it breaks out my face or not, and write a solid opinion review for you guys.

The gel itself looks blue in the tube and looks clear on the swatch. The texture is gel-like and it sinks into the skin very fast and doesn't leave any sticky residue. It has a refreshing and cooling sensation once we blend it into the skin. It does hydrate my skin after washing my face, which usually leaves my skin feeling dry and rough. It smells like aloe vera and smells fresh. Although it contains fragrance, the smell doesn't linger and doesn't irritate my skin.

I personally have really oily skin, and although it didn't really control my oil, at least I have a decent moisturizer after washing my face. It didn't break me out at all and my skin always feels hydrated after applying this.

Aku selalu ingin membeli aloe vera gel (gel lidah buaya) untuk dijadikan pelembab muka, karena aku sudah baca banyak review bagus dan keuntungan lidah buaya. Tadinya aku mau membeli dari brand Nature Republic, tetapi yang itu punya alkohol di dalamnya. Aku hanya takut kalau kulitku iritasi. Aku sangat senang ketika aku tahu bahwa produk ini TIDAK mengandung alkohol maupun paraben. Harganya juga sangat terjangkau, aku beli ini sekitar IDR 35.000 buat tube sebesar ini.

Aku sudah memakai produk ini selama 3 bulan sampai sekarang dan aku menahan review ini karena aku ingin sekali mencoba produknya lebih lama, apakah produk ini membuat kulitku berjerawat atau tidak, dan menulis review yang mantap untuk kalian.

Gelnya sendiri warnanya biru di dalam tube dan warnanya transparan pada swatchnya. Tekturnya seperti gel dan langsung meresap dengan cepat dan tidak meninggalkan sisa lengket. Gel ini memberikan sensasi segar dan dingin ketika kita baur ke dalam kulit. Gel ini juga melembabkan kulitku setelah cuci muka, yang mana sering membuat kulitku kering dan kesat. Baunya seperti lidah buaya dan menyegarkan. Walaupun produk ini mengandung parfum, baunya tidak mengganggu dan hilang setelah diblend, dan juga tidak membuat kulitku iritasi.

Aku sendiri punya kulit yang sangat berminyak, dan walaupun ini tidak mengontrol minyak berlebihku, setidaknya aku punya pelembab layak untuk sesudah aku mencuci muka. Produk ini tidak membuat kulitku berjerawat sama sekali dan kulitku selalu berasa lembab setelah pakai ini.

Aloe vera gel is multifunction. We can use this not only for face moisturizer, but for your base makeup, after shave cream, hair treatment, relaxing swollen eyes, nail essence, body care, and mask pack for relaxing sunburns.

I actually have used this product on my hair, and it left my hair with silky smooth hair.

Gel lidah buaya ini multifungsi. Kita bisa memakai ini bukan hanya untuk pelembab muka, tetapi untuk dasar makeup, krim setelah cukur, treatment rambut, menenangkan mata bengkak, esens kuku, perawatan tubuh, dan krim untuk menenangkan kulit terbakar sinar matahari.

So, here are the pros and cons of this product:

• moisturizes and hydrates the skin
• leaves a refreshing and cooling sensation
• multifunction
• very affordable and you get a lot of product in the tube

• doesn't control my oil

Overall, I really like this aloe vera gel. It is a great moisturizer for the face and it never irritates my sensitive and very oily skin.

Will I repurchase?

Of course! Until I find a better moisturizer, I will keep using this as daily face moisturizer.

Review : Sariayu Duo Lip Color in DLC K-07

Hi guys! I have another lip product review for you guys. It is from a local brand Sariayu and the product is quite new, Duo Lip Color. So today, I'm going to write in English and Indonesian. And here is how the product looks like when I received it. (It was a gift from a friend.)

Halo semua! Aku punya review produk bibir hari ini. Produk ini dari brand lokal Sariayu dan produknya sendiri lumayan baru, yaitu Duo Lip Color. Jadi hari ini, aku akan menulis dalam bahasa Inggris dan Indonesia. Dan ini produknya waktu aku pertama dapat. (Produk ini adalah hadiah dari seorang teman baikku.)

Sariayu comes with a new lip trend every year and this year, they were inspired by Krakatau, which used to be an active volcano and erupted in 1883 and caused a huge phenomenon all over the world during its time.

So the product has two ends, hence its name Duo Lip Color. One end is glossy and one end is matte. The packaging itself is very simple and nice. However, I didn't know that the plastic is actually important to determine which side is matte or glossy, and I ended up ripping the plastic off because I didn't know about it. So now, I had to mark the ends with the words M and G with a sharpie to know which side is glossy or matte.

The product itself smells like bubblegum. It just smells sweet. But it doesn't linger though, which is good because I actually prefer products with no scent at all.

Jadi produknya punya dua ujung, karenanya namanya adalah Duo Lip Color. Salah satu ujung itu glossy dan satunya lagi matte. Pengemasan produknya sangat simpel dan bagus. Tapi, aku tidak tahu awalnya kalau plastiknya penting untuk mengetahui ujung mana yang glossy atau matte, dan akhirnya aku tidak sengaja merobek plastiknya. Jadi sekarang, aku harus tandai ujungnya pakai huruf M dan G dengan spidol untuk mengetahui ujung mana yang matte atau glossy.

Produknya sendiri baunya seperti permen karet, pokoknya baunya manis. Tapi baunya tidak tercium sepanjang hari, sih. Itu tentunya hal yang bagus karena aku sendiri sebenarnya lebih memilih produk yang tidak punya bau sama sekali.

For some reasons, the shade looks different. As you can see on the back of my hand, the glossy side looks more orange and the matte side looks more coral. Both colours still looks pretty, though. They are from the nude side.

It is very pigmented. As you can see my lips were quite dry and pale. But the product is really pigmented to cover up my lips. The glossy side didn't dry up my lips as much as the matte side. This could be overcome by exfoliating and applying lip balm before application.

As for lasting power, unfortunately, it didn't last as long, especially if you eat with this lipstick on. At first I thought that this was a liquid lipstick like Colourpop, which dries to a matte finish and wouldn't budge once it dries. This product is like a regular lipstick, but it did leave some stains. To make this last long, avoid making contact with anything.

Untuk beberapa alasan, warnanya terlihat berbeda. Seperti yang kalian lihat, di belakang tanganku, ujung yang glossy terlihat lebih oranye dan ujung yang matte terlihat lebih koral. Kedua warnanya tetap terlihat cantik, sih. Warnanya dari keluarga nude yang cantik.

Produknya sangat pigmented. Seperti yang kalian lihat bibirku lumayan kering dan pucat. Tetapi produknya sangat pigmented untuk menutupi bibirku. Ujung glossy tidak membuat bibirku kering sebanyak ujung matte. Hal ini bisa diatasi dengan meng-scrub bibir dan memakai lip balm sebelum aplikasi.

Kalau ketahanannya, sayangnya, produknya tidak bertahan terlalu lama, terutama jika kalian makan dengan lipstik yang masih ada di bibir. Pertamanya aku pikir ini adalah lipstik cair seperti Colourpop, yang mengering ke hasil matte dan tidak akan bergerak sedikit pun ketika produknya kering. Produk ini seperti lipstik biasa, tetapi produk ini meninggalkan bekas noda lipstik. Untuk membuat produk ini bertahan lama, hindari membuat kontak dengan benda apapun.

So here are the pros and cons of this product:

Pros

• wide colour selection (they have 12 shades to choose from)
• travel-friendly
• comes in two different finishes (which is a really unique idea)
• affordable (retails for IDR 99.000 in store)

Cons

• not long-lasting
• shade ranges only in pinks, reds, and oranges, unlike US brand which comes in shades like purple, blue, dark plums, even black!

I really like this product, especially the matte finish is really pretty, However, I subtracted one point because of its lasting power. Nonetheless, this product is really good!

Will I repurchase?

Of course! I would like to try other pretty shades as well.

Now, let's move onto the product itself.

This product is said to be a really close dupe to MAC's Soft and Gentle. I personally don't have any MAC products and judging by the review from other bloggers, they look really identical to me.

I originally wanted to buy the shade Moonlight Pearls because it is also said to be a dupe for The Balm Mary Loumanizer highlighter, but it was sold out in the online store that I shopped and I couldn't wait any longer, so I bought this shade instead.

Onto the product, I really like the product because it has a beautiful champagne sheen. On the swatch on the back of my hand it looks pinkier than it actually does in real life.

I only swatched this highlighter with my fingers because I don't think my cheap makeup brushes picks up the product very well. But, you can build the product up and once you do, it's really pretty.

I am easily thrown off by glitters, and sadly this product has glitters in it and it stays on even after removal. Maybe it's because I am not used to highlighters, and this is actually my first highlighter that I own. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

The highlighter gives off a natural sheen on the cheeks and I really like that. It also lasts for about 8 hours and doesn't make my skin look oily. For $4, it's really a good product and it really works well.

So, here are the pros and cons of this product:

Pros

• simple packaging
• has a beautiful sheen
• looks natural
• affordable

Cons

• has glitters in it (which many of you may not care about)

Rate : 4.5/5

I really like it! I can deal with the glitters later, but it is really pretty on the skin!

Will I repurchase? Of course! I would like to try the shade Moonlight Pearls as well.
